Oil Spill Response

Some of the largest environmental disasters are caused by oil spills, most notably the Deepwater Horizon in 2010. A key aspect of oil spill response operations is the need to determine the location and movement of oil to enable response resources to be positioned in the most effective way to limit the oil impact on the shoreline.DSCF0255

Easy to transport and deploy, the Hawk Owl can be used as an alternative to costly surveillance aircraft and helicopters. Flying at an altitude of up to 300m, the Hawk Owl can provide a high endurance aerial surveillance capability to monitor the spill movement and allow response resources to be directed to the heaviest oil concentrations.
